What kind of edit do I need?
Copy Editing
Includes checking for spelling, capitalization, punctuation, verb tenses and other grammatical errors. (Basic proof/proofreading)
Copy editing also involves checking for continuity, sentence structure, dialogue, paragraph length, word choices and missed words etc. in addition to correcting the language of the text. (Minor editing/technical)
Content Editing
Includes checking the content of the text, adding new sentences, alternative wording, etc. and checking for factual errors. It also includes advice on discrepancies in the plot, character or dialogue and checking for plot holes (fictional), inconsistencies, contradictions, impossibilities and implausibilities. In addition, checks for theme development and whether sub plots are well integrated into the story line are included. (Major editing/substantive)

Veronica holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a MA in Education. She has published work with local newspapers is the author of CHILDLIKE: An Interactive Guide to Living your Life Curious, Authentic & Raw!, She is career educator and founder of The Children's Literacy Center of Oklahoma, a local non profit organization located in Oklahoma.
